One of our most favorite things to see was our C-47 arriving.  It brought fresh food, Mail, and REPLACEMENTS!  A crew always went out to the Hofn airstrip to greet the plane.  There was even a specially equipped pickup truck that carried a fire extinguisher "just in case". 

We don't have a picture of the "Purple K" truck but the garbage truck was used to haul supplies in and to act as the "Ground Control" since, sometimes, we had to force the local sheep off of the runway! 

I See it!

We sometimes shared the strip with the FluFlagg (spelling ?) aircraft.  It was Iceland's local air carrier.
